Leak tracing
We investigate roof coverings, flashings, valleys, windows and hidden water paths.
Diagnose before decorating
Camden's older housing stock has usually been altered at least once, so roof-space problems rarely have a single obvious cause. Water can travel along timbers some distance before it shows as a stain on the ceiling below, so we trace the actual source on site rather than treating the visible mark as the whole story.
What we diagnose and fix
Water ingress in a roof space rarely shows up directly under its source; tracking the actual entry point along flashing, valleys or ridge tiles is the first job, not guesswork repairs.
Failed flashing around chimneys and party walls, insulation compressed by years of loft storage, timber rot where an earlier repair wasn't properly weathered, and loft alterations from a previous owner that were never signed off by building control are the patterns we see most often in Camden properties. Identifying which applies to yours is the first thing we do on site, before any repair work is proposed.
The mortar bedding ridge tiles and valley linings erodes over years of weathering; once it fails, water gets behind the tiles rather than running off them.
Rafters, purlins and joists that have taken on damp for long enough need sistering or replacement, not just drying out, to stay structurally sound.
Insulation that's been compressed, soaked, or installed incorrectly stops doing its job long before it visibly falls apart.
We regularly take over projects left mid-way or completed to a standard that doesn't meet building control, and bring them up to a compliant, finished state.
Urgent repairs
A roof leak doesn't wait for a convenient appointment. We prioritise urgent water ingress and storm damage callouts to limit damage to ceilings, insulation and stored belongings before it spreads further into the property.
What we can help with
We investigate roof coverings, flashings, valleys, windows and hidden water paths.

Ventilation, insulation gaps and moisture sources reviewed before finishes are replaced.
Practical remedial scopes for poor workmanship, movement, cracking or incomplete work.
Matching original Welsh slate or clay tiles on Camden period roofs.
Fast temporary tarpaulin protection and leak containment following storm or wind damage.
